I) Which graphic mod should I choose?

Basically, if we categorize by user’s intention, there would be 3 most common types of mods from my overall perspective:

1) General graphic enhancements mods

Generally speaking, these mods would do every basic things about visuals: changing timecycle, weathers, enhance reflection, color, shader, realism enhancement, lighting, particle, textures, shadow etc…
The good thing is, your game will look awesome! You will be amazed by the talents of modders. Some mods like VisualV or Miracle of V totally overhaul your game to the next level, make your game experience smooth and nice.
On the other hand, your PC rig must stand out from the others to smoothly run those mods. FPS loss may suffer heavily if your VGA is not in the middle – high end class.
Some popular mods in this category: VisualV, Miracle of V, Real Life Graphics, R*hancer Photorealism mod …

2) Particular graphic overhaul

Unlike the general graphic enhancements mods, these stuffs only boost the visuals in some particular aspects, though will be much smaller and easier to handle. If you don’t wanna mess up the vanilla version and just deal with simple tweak, then these would be suitable for you.
Eg: GTA V FoV, 2k Water, Project Realism V, 4k Blood, Realistic Sand for Vespucci Beach …

3) Low-end-PCs-mods

Maybe some of you would react like “wtf is this mod”. But yeah, that’s exactly what the mod would behave. The graphics will go back to the ~2000s, with the look-like-cube character models. Sometimes it looks like a 8-bit NES game (Just kidding lol). In exchange, the performance of the game will gain significant increase, allow you to play smoothly without any problems.
Eg: GTA for super low PC’s

II) Some best graphic mods for you

As I’ve mentioned above, the number of graphic mods is abundant, and it’s kinda complicated to search for the necessary mods. Players don’t know whether this is a good mod or not. Therefore, I will recommend some highest – rated mods for you to make a decision. These mods will offer you a most realism experience at low performance cost.

Q: I’ve encounter the “ENB” terms many times, what does it mean anw?
A: ENB is a graphic mod that enhances post processing effects to make games look better graphically. It’s really hard to describe ENB mods with words, but basically it’s a modification of graphical effects–mostly light and shadow to the game. Many of them can add additional effects like depth of field and film grain/blur etc. Some of them can be very taxing to your system or cause problems with stability but the difference to the game world and lighting is almost night and day in some scenarios.

Q: What about SweetFX?
A: Simply, Sweet FX is a mod built on the InjectSMAA shader injector, which allows you to apply a suite of post processing shader effects to your games. Sweet FX isn’t alone in this area there are other shader injection mod tools. SweetFX allows you to add SMAA anti-aliasing , sharpening and the ability to tweak the colour, gamma , exposure and more. It’s meant to allow you to improve the look of your games and change the look and mood of it to your liking.

Q: What is Reshade? Difference between ENB, Reshade and SweetFX?
A: If SweetFX was a game then Reshade would be the engine that it ran on. Reshade handles injection so the game will use the SweetFX shaders. As of now Reshade 1.0 includes the four main shader injection programs. It is a collaborative effort between them to combine into one easy to use platform. Sweet FX (color correction and post process AA mostly), MasterEffect (ambient occlusion, depth of field, motion blur, lens flare/godrays), GemFX (various lighting and motion shaders, motion blur, bloom etc.) Just about every post process in the world is container within these 4. ENB is more gta-specific, it can change the strength of lights, the distance in which they are rendered, and some other stuff like that. Reshade is a post-processing injector, with community shaders, SweetFX is actually a shader for Reshade, and the “normal” Reshade version comes with other shaders, you usually use both (ENB and Reshade/SweetFX) because like I said before, they do different things. And yes, they can be used together.

Q: Is there still a massive ban policy from Rockstar’s part on mod usage? If so how can I use mods and be safe from being banned from social club and GTA?
A: Only if you use mods in GTA online, otherwise it’s ok

Q: I was wondering how to install mods. Im new to PC.
A: Most mods will have a readme file with instructions on how to install. If you are new to modding I would suggest reading that entire guide at least once to get a feel for it and start small, like adding ScripthookV and a few scripts, then try adding a car to get used to using OpenIV. It may seem like a lot at first but once you get used to it you can mod anything you want and it gets easier with experience.

Q: Will this impact performace alot? If so, do you know alternatives? (Sweetfx presets)???
A: Adding VisualV and ENB (or any graphics mod) to your game will not cost very much FPS. It will not affect performance very much at all, 2-3 FPS at most. With the ENB on you can turn down some GTA settings to make up for it. (MSAA) SweetFX costs more performance wise depending on what the pre-set enables. If you do use SweetFX go in to the SweetFXsettings.txt file and make sure that HDR is NOT on. (change the 1 to a 0) It’s super high cost for not much of a better look and a lot of pre-sets have it on. It’s a fake HDR anyway.
